Mag+ conceptual video shows potential
Bonnier R&D put this conceptual video together to share their vision for the future of digital magazines.
The reader experience that they have developed is all about interaction. Navigation seems fairly intuitive and some of the functions that they have thought of are quite intriguing.
The animations and transitions are reminiscent of Adobe Flash. It looks as if it would be fairly readable, but something tells me that there would be considerable load times involved.
I really liked how they integrated the ability to select specific content and share it instantaneously with social networks. Getting away from traditional navigation menus gives the device a really interactive vibe.
Making this concept a reality would be a daunting task, to say the least. I won’t be holding my breath for the release of a prototype. But who knows … the recent release of the iPad has piqued the public’s interest in tablet e-readers, and I wouldn’t be surprised if products like these start gaining momentum.
